Getting Ready for NaNo ’11

I’m getting ready for NaNoWriMo ’11 and thought, this year, I’d post my story as I wrote it. That’s write right, you’ll be able to read the whole thing from start to finish without polishing or perfection as I sweat out my blood and tears in story format.

You can follow along, if you’re brave enough, here: http://30days50k.wordpress.com

Snazzy name, right? Right. But the name of the novel this year is Heirloom. Here’s a short peek at what it’s about:

All Sophie Morgan needs to do is hand deliver her grandmother’s most prized possession, a beautifully woven tapestry, to the museum. Instead, she finds herself ripped from home and family and thrust into a strange world full of fallen angels, demons, and other folkloric creatures. To get home, she’ll need to recover her tapestry and avoid becoming the pawn of a fallen angel determined to use her to break the threads that tie their worlds together.

    • Thanks! It is tough to write an entire novel in a month but it is doable. The trick, at least for me, is to make sure I have everything prepped before November 1st. That means plot outline, character descriptions, etc are already thought out. Of course, my first NaNo novel was basically a seat-of-your pants kind of story since I discovered NaNoWriMo only a day before it started.
